This position is a full-time, time-limited, Core Research Facility Technician III in the Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Core in the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR) at the University of Florida and reports to the Proteomics Core Scientific Director. The ICBR Proteomics core offers comprehensive molecular analytical services to support life science research on campus. The incumbent will work independently to perform MS-based methodologies. Specific duties include the use of mass spectrometry for the analysis of peptides, proteins, and metabolites in biological specimens. This individual must be familiar with HPLC, mass spectrometry technologies, and analytical chemistry techniques. Commitment to working effectively in a team environment, attention to detail, and adherence to following strict standard operating procedures are a must. Additional duties include contribution to the development, optimization, and validation of new methodologies that may lead to new service offerings.
