This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in multiple physician-led clinical translational research in the area of endovascular and cerebral vascular research. This is a highly responsible position that has will have direct responsibility for patient care, patient safety and internal and external regulatory compliance. The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs.

The Department of Medicine Division of Hematology is looking for a full-time temporary OPS employee. Under the supervision from the Malignant Hematology Division Manager within the Division of Hematology and Oncology within the Department of Medicine this position will function as the Clinical Research Assistant for Dr. Wingard's Gatorade Pilot clinic research study and Dr. Irizarry Gatell’s AML Gut Microbiota study. The diet study is our highest enrolling investigator-initiated trial with an expected annual enrollment of 75 patients yearly with a total of 168 enrollments to date and a projected accrual of 420 subjects to complete the study. The AML gut microbiota study has a projected accrual goal of 46 patients to complete the study. The diet study and the AML gut microbiota study, are both IITs, contributes a high number of interventional enrollments, which meets the goal of our mission to obtain NCI designation.
