Job Description: |
Supervising/training lab personnel. Supervising laboratory technicians who are directly working on projects as well as providing technical help to scientists working in the lab. Train and supervise graduate assistants as required.
Develop protocols to improve existing techniques or incorporate new diagnostic procedures to design and implement new laboratory protocols. Plan and conduct biological research in accordance with stipulated protocols and quality and safety standards.
Data analysis and preparation of manuscripts. Management of data analysis and the preparation of this data into figures for presentation in manuscripts for publication. Writing and revising manuscripts.
General laboratory maintenance: includes ordering, inventory, radiation surveys, supervising compliance with hazardous waste and biological safety requirements, routine record keeping, maintaining stock solutions including cell culture media and common buffers.
Responsible for and required to protect laboratory (and UF) intellectual property. This includes maintaining confidential data accurately and safely in accordance with laboratory notebook SOPs and UF IP policy.

Expected Salary: |
$53,000 - $67,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications: |
Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field and two years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and five years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field and seven years of relevant experience.
