Job Description:

- Reconciles PeopleSoft general ledger transactions to in-house subsidiary systems and source documentation retained in OnBase system; reconciles various UF Foundation funds benefitting the College of Veterinary Medicine by monitoring and reconciling transactions at the UF Foundation with internal database transaction records and assists Accountant IV with the preparation and maintenance of the monthly Foundation reports submitted to CVM Management for review

– Complete journals to correct transactions with incorrect data within their chartfields.  Will oversee inquiries and corrections regarding transaction report discrepancies and analyzing data from various financial information systems such as PeopleSoft, Questica, and Enterprise Analytics (COGNOS). Complete a budget check using fiscal summary reports and official ledgers to ensure there is sufficient funding within the correct chart field. Reconciles and assists with the closing of the aged Purchase Order and Travel encumbrances and reviewing/clearing daily Budget Error listing. Monitor and maintain transaction data error log and keep up-to-date for supervisor review. Follow up with any contacts outside of the department to ensure any errors or inquiries are reviewed and completed in a timely manner. Assist with drafting budgets for review

- Maintains knowledge of PeopleSoft procedures and sources and uses of various funds utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Hospital departments to assist with providing analysis of various financial data.  Will manage the creation and maintenance of various ad hoc financial reports designed for CVM Management, Faculty, and Staff. Analyze financial reports to assist leadership in decision making. Cross trains with other staff for various office related duties and to provide additional fiscal support to other sections within the FSO when needed.

– Run a Source Detail Transaction & Payroll Report through the Enterprise Analytics data warehouse daily to extract transaction data in preparation for reconciliation. Utilize other reporting templates within Enterprise Analytics to produce, schedule, and update specific transactional reports related to revenues and expenditures, including payroll. Update existing report templates to provide funding information to necessary parties when requested or create new templates if needed.

– Works with Accountant IV on updating and maintenance of the CVM-centered FSEA ledgers. Gathers transaction data and assists with the formatting of the annual Budget reports & other Fiscal Year transition reports. Provides additional analytical support to CVM Purchasing, Disbursements, and Grants as needed.

- Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$24.00 - $26.00 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of UF accounting principles and practices
• Experience with PeopleSoft
• Skilled in data collection and report preparation
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
• Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures of accounting programs
• Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
• Detail oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel Formulas such as Pivot Tables & VLookups)
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
