Job Description:

The Intelligent Critical Care Center (IC3) is a multi-disciplinary center focused on developing and providing sustainable support and leadership for transformative medical AI research, education, and clinical applications to advance patients' health in critical and acute care medicine. The Center addresses an unprecedented opportunity for world-leading ambient, immersive, and artificial intelligence (AI2) research and innovation to transform the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment for critically and acutely ill patients using the multimodal clinical and research data and resources from UF Health, one of Florida’s largest health care systems.

With a growing team of 37 faculty, scientists, researchers, and students, IC3 aims to revolutionize critical and acute care medicine. We are idealists, problem solvers, and explorers of digital health and AI. We’re looking for team members who are driven and enthusiastic to be a part of our mission to use AI and digital technologies to advance health care so that critically and acutely ill patients can receive the best possible treatment when they need it the most.

We are seeking motivated and qualified graduate students with experience in iOS development, game development (Unreal, Omniverse), software engineering (Python/C#), and cloud computing (Docker/Kubernetes/AWS). The project involves building an iOS application (for iPad) that represents the University of Florida Hospital Digital Twin using NVIDIA Omniverse and the Unreal Engine.

This position will assist in implementing interactive 3D functionalities on the iPad and contribute to developing networking pipelines for the project.

This is an hourly position with a pay rate of $18/hour.

 

Responsibilities:

• Build an iOS application version of an Unreal Engine project for use on an iPad.

• Assist in deploying the Unreal application architecture on the cloud and streaming it to an iPad.

• Contribute to the development and deployment of data ETL pipelines for the Digital Twin project.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$18/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.

• Hand on experience in Swift or Objective-C, familiarity with Xcode, and experience with iOS frameworks like UIKit and SwiftUI.

• Experience in using game engines such as Unity and Unreal.

• Experience in software development mainly Python and C#.

• Experience in cloud computing AWS, GCP, Pixel Streaming, NVIDIA Cloud GeForce.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

• Willingness to learn new skills as projects require.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with system management tools such as Docker and Kubernetes etc.

• Hand on coding experience with real-time data streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ etc. 

• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
