Job Description: |
Strategic Direction:
- Develops and implements strategic plans for the team in alignment with CFO Division strategic goals
- Makes informed business decisions
Customer Relations:
- Manages daily interactions with departments and personnel regarding their payroll questions
- Maintains collaborative relationships with key University, State, and Federal Agency stakeholders and colleagues to enhance relations and engagement through the distribution of clear and consistent communications
- Communicates clearly with diplomacy and discretion
Leadership
- Provides guidance and support for the payroll team
- Proactively analyzes current processes, recommends solutions to leadership, and supports implementation
Data Reporting
- Provides responses to various requests for payroll and tax data
Special Projects:
- Other duties as assigned by the department leadership

Expected Salary: |
$120,000 - $125,000
|
Minimum Requirements: |
A Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience. |
Preferred: |
Extensive knowledge of the payroll rules and regulations in addition to the human resource rules and policies as they affect payroll processing and payment functions and payroll accounting entries. A thorough understanding of the accounting systems, payroll tax withholding, and tax reporting requirements.
Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to analyze and solve problems, interpret and recommend solutions or changes; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to work with limited supervision; to be reliable, and to work both in a team and independently, proficient in Microsoft Office.
