Job Description:

This Data Management Analyst III position is housed in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (POP), located in the College of Pharmacy. The position is shared between two research groups, including ongoing projects under Dr. Zhiqiu (Sophie) Ye and under the Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety (CoDES) at the University of Florida. The position under CoDES supports ongoing research within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety, which encompasses faculty from several departments and colleges. Tasks involve user support including data curation, linkages, cohort and measure discovery and other data management tasks, and data analyses to answer specific research questions. The types of analyses typically employed range from simple descriptive to complex time-series, multi-level hierarchical, and multiple imputation models using clinical, survey, and claims data.

Duties include:

1. Design and manage data file systems that include multiple data sets using a variety of database and statistical software tools, for example, SQL, SAS, R, and Access.
2. Collaborate with IT staff and the CoDES Research Coordinator to design, improve, and implement, data management systems and infrastructure for data security.
3. Coordinate data projects and conduct statistical data analyses, write statistical programming code for software such as Python, SAS, R, Stata and participate in interpretation of results.
4. Database performance optimization, programming/writing SQL code, and running stored procedures & triggers.
5. Participate in design and implementation of research and evaluation studies.
6. Manage server users, granting and revoking secure data access based on IRB and DUA approval.

Expected Salary:

$78,500-$92,200 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Research experience strongly preferred. Technical writing ability, and in-depth knowledge of MS Office strongly preferred. Data analysis experience, and experience with medical claims data is a plus. Proficient in query languages, in particular Structure Query Language (SQL) in Microsoft Access and SAS programming. Understanding of statistical procedures is a plus though not required.
