Join the collaborative team in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the College of Medicine! The Human Resources Generalist II combines HR expertise, personnel management, and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our department. As the key liaison with College HR, you will handle all aspects of recruitment and onboarding to payroll and leave management, all while providing expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
- Collaborates with COM HR and Director of Administrative Services, in the resolution of complex human resource matters including employee relations issues.
- Process new hires, maintain personnel records, manage employee transfers, and oversee FMLA/leave requests.
- Prepares all documentation for recruitment of new and replacement positions, including submitting requests to COM HR & COM FA for position approval. Creates job postings and manages applicant pools with the hiring authority. Schedules interviews and completes all required steps for clearance to hire the chosen candidate.
- Collaborates with the Immigration Center of Expertise on all Foreign National hires and helps to ensure compliance.
- Manages graduate assistant and predoc fellow tuition waiver process and works with OGA and COM-HR Grad programs for any associated grad program funding.
Payroll:
- Reviews time entered for accuracy. Reviews preliminary and final pay list, resolving any discrepancies in time and/or pay. Advises departmental personnel regarding time reporting, fringe benefits, and payroll.
- Manages faculty and staff leave request and approval process ensuring proper reporting of leave. Enters faculty and lab staff leave.
Administrative:
- Support administrative operations, including creating UFIDs, issuing keys, and managing personnel databases.
- Manages and creates content for the departmental website. Assists and creates content for the department, including any web forms for human resource operations.
- Serves as primary department DSA, requests security roles, and manages affiliations in ID management.

Expected Salary: |
$60,000 - $67,000, commensurate with education and experience
|
Minimum Requirements: |
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
|
