Job Description:

Supervision of point of service operations by front office staff. Greets patients and confirms appointments. Identifies and collects deductibles, co-payments, or deposits on services. Provides registration forms, release forms, and other forms to patients for signature. Explains and satisfies any necessary patient signature requirements. Ensures proper insurance, discount, patient type codes, etc. are recorded (as appropriate). Inputs patient demographic, insurance, and registration information into Axium, the patient accounting system. On all patient visits, verifies accuracy of demographic
information and updates the patient transaction records.

Insurance verification and insurance pre-authorization; processing claims for commercial insurance; reprocessing incorrect claims for both Medicaid and commercial insurance, addressing denials, and submitting appeals; patient fee adjustments; patient financial counseling; addresses
outstanding patient balances.

Patient information management. Correcting patient data (e.g., bad addresses), uploading and managing patient photographs; provides Axium training and consultation for faculty, residents, and other staff; integrates Axium and clinic schedules together; provides expertise on Axium in the St. Pete
clinic.

Arranges care or hospital and IV sedation cases. Schedules patient appointments and obtains prior dental records and studies (if appropriate); coordination of hospital and IV sedation cases; oversees scheduling patients and ensures clearance from the patient’s PCP been received correctly;
 arranges for special needs care when applicable.

Expected Salary: $21.61/hr, commensurate with education/experience
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and six years of medical office experience, that includes knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines as well as basic medical terminology. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree or High school diploma and equivalent experience

Two years of appropriate dental office experience

- Knowledge of all phases of dental treatment
- Knowledge of clinic efficiency

- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to plan, organize, and perform work assignments
-Interpersonal skill in supervising staff and interacting with patients
