Established in 2022, the Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education is a multidisciplinary academic unit whose purpose is to support teaching and research concerning the ideas, traditions, and texts that shape Western civilization and American values and institutions. The Center also seeks to promote civil discourse and the ethics of citizenship, and to prepare students to see past their horizons and prepare for a lifetime of leadership and meaningful careers.
The Hamilton Center is seeking a Human Resources Generalist II to support the Center in all aspects of Human Resources. This position is responsible for overseeing Human Resources operations throughout the entire employee lifecycle and advising leadership on HR best practices.
Primary duties include:
- Posting job positions, managing applicant pools, conducting background checks, and processing hires of all salary plans (TEAMS, Faculty, Postdoctoral Associates, Predoctoral Fellows, Federal Work Study, Student Assistants, and OPS). This role also includes coordinating new hire onboarding and advising employees on HR policies.
- Processing HR transactions such as pay increases, leave requests, and position reclassifications.
- Ensuring compliance with training requirements.
- Engaging in Employee Relations conversations with UFHR Employee Relations Office.
- Implementing policies and procedures as it applies to the Human Resources unit of the Center.

Expected Salary: |
$55,000 - $60,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Preferred experience and skills include:
- Human Resources experience at the University of Florida strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Familiar with HR processes in PeopleSoft.
- Effective organization, customer service, and communication skills.
