OPS Student Writer Assistant

The University of Florida Warrington College of Business is seeking a part-time Writer to assist the Editorial Team with content projects for the College’s Newsroom, website and social media.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, comfortable with interviewing story subjects, researching information for stories independently, working on multiple stories at once, brainstorms content ideas independently and with the Editorial team, is a problem-solver and is well organized.

Potential projects include, but are not limited to:
1. Writing and editing stories for the Warrington Newsroom, website, and social media posts that are focused on students, faculty, staff and alumni.
2. Posting story content in the Warrington Newsroom (Wordpress).
3. Collaborating with the Editorial team to brainstorm content, researching content ideas, etc.

Position is hybrid, with opportunities to work in the office and remotely. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. but must adhere to an agreed-upon schedule. This position is only open to enrolled students. Minimum stay of one semester, 8-10 hours weekly, but longer stays are available and encouraged.

$15.00/hr

1. Some knowledge and background in writing news content, public relations, marketing, or the like.
2. Must have good communication and organization skills.

This position is open to all registered students eligible to work on campus. The candidate must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

The ideal candidate should have:
1. Experience writing and editing story content
2. Utilizing social media channels
3. Attention to detail
4. The ability to work on a team

This is a part-time position.
