Join the University of Florida’s School of Physician Assistant Studies as our Didactic Year Assistant!
The School of Physician Assistant Studies (SPAS) is seeking an Academic Assistant II to serve as the Didactic Year Assistant, supporting the first year of the Physician Assistant (PA) program. In this role, you will provide advanced administrative and programmatic support to ensure smooth operations of the didactic year, working closely with the Director of Didactic Education, Didactic Coordinator, and course directors.
As the Didactic Year Assistant, you will coordinate semester schedules, exams, and evaluations; manage Canvas courses and course materials; enter grades; and serve as a point of contact for didactic students. You’ll also oversee credentialing for first-year students, support orientation activities, maintain program records, and assist with student services.

More About This Role
Academic Administrative Support • Coordinates semester schedules and lecturers with the Director of Didactic Education, to include scheduling of learning activities, exams, etc. • Advises students of policies and procedures related to the didactic year of the PA Program. • Coordinates textbook adoption information for all courses including gathering information from course directors. • Administers faculty evaluations for didactic courses on behalf of the course directors • Enters first year PA student grades into UF grading system on behalf of the course directors. • Assists with upkeep of electronic student academic records, academic program records, taking minutes at academic related meetings. • Requests lab supplies and assists with Material & Supply fees budget development.
Course Support • Develops and maintains Canvas courses for 1-2 lecture based courses per semester based on guidance from course director(s). • Completes tasks for 1-2 lecture based courses per semester. Tasks include posting syllabi, schedules, lecture materials, assignments, and notifications. • Drafts, edits, and maintains student informational documents for the Director of Didactic Education and Course Directors such as course syllabi and other course related documents in alignment with SPAS policies. • Provides administrative support for the Director of Didactic Education. • Provides back-up for PA School course coordinators.
Student Services • Oversees student credentialing necessary for the didactic year . • Point of contact for didactic student inquiries; assists as appropriate or triages inquiries to appropriate contact. • Tracks attendance and absence requests for Didactic Year courses. • Assists with new class orientation.
Other Duties as Assigned • Other duties as assigned by PA school leadership. • Collaborates with COM Event Manager and participates in PA events.
