Job Description:

The University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM), actively seeks a motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Manager of Performance Optimization and Analytics. The Manager of Performance Optimization and Analytics will be a key driver in developing and implementing data-driven strategies to optimize provider performance, enhance operational efficiency, and improve overall departmental effectiveness. This position is responsible for designing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with departmental goals, utilizing advanced statistical methods and data visualization tools to analyze performance data and generate actionable insights for senior leadership. By working closely with cross-functional teams, this individual will support data-driven decision-making to proactively address challenges and foster continuous improvement in the department.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Measurement and Analysis

  • This position plays a pivotal role in advancing the department’s strategic initiatives by leveraging data-driven insights to improve performance, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
  • Lead AAAEM Benchmark Survey submissions using Business Objects
  • Collaborate with the health system to ensure data consistency and alignment with submissions like Vizient
  • Support Earned Variable Compensation (EVC) administration, providing necessary data for accurate plan implementation
  • Develop and implement KPIs to assess provider performance, operational efficiency, and productivity
  • Utilize statistical analysis and data visualization tools to identify performance trends and areas for improvement
  • Conduct trend analysis and forecasting to inform proactive decision-making

Data Management and Visualization

  • Establish and maintain data governance procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity in performance data
  • Create interactive dashboards and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights for key stakeholders
  • Monitor and refine data collection processes to improve reporting accuracy

Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with leadership, clinicians, and operational teams to understand performance needs and provide tailored analytical support
  • Collaborate with Shands Decision Support Services (DSS) team to build and update Emergency Medicine data reports
  • Generate comprehensive reports to support strategic decisions and operational improvements
  • Communicate data insights effectively through visual storytelling and presentations

Expected Salary:

The annual salary ranges between $75,000 - $82,000 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred
  • Strong expertise in performance measurement, data analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and data governance best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
