Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:

Provide onsite and remote IT support services as follows: Identifies, analyzes, tests, and recommends hardware and software solutions, including updating and upgrading client systems, while resolving complex technical issues. Provides complex technical support via phone, in-person, and remotely for multiple client operating systems, including Windows and macOS, as well as software solutions such as Microsoft 365 products, third-party applications, virus protection, email, and internet browser clients. Responsible for monitoring critical IT functions and service requests. Utilizes a ticketing system to manage and track support requests, ensuring efficient resolution. This role involves extensive problem diagnostics and supports UF/IFAS locations statewide. Driving to various locations statewide will be required.

Coordinate multimedia projects by providing general AV support and acting as a liaison with the appropriate groups and vendors. Interface with hardware and software technology vendors, and members of the UF IT community to keep current on industry trends and UF initiatives.  Recommends, maintains, and reports on UF/IFAS hardware and software standards, industry trends, and university initiatives to the UF/IFAS IT Community.

Designs, documents, and implements problem resolutions. Builds and/or customizes programs based on client needs. Complex and technical resolution of IT systems designs and maintenance. Level of technical skill is moderately advanced to ensure meeting customers’ requirements.

With delegated permissions, manage Exchange Online mailboxes, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes for UF/IFAS users. Manage and coordinate lists within the IFAS L-Soft Listserv service.

Expected Salary:

$65K - $71K commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred

Moderately advanced-level technical knowledge of client systems, Microsoft Active Directory,
Microsoft Windows, macOS, various client software applications and management
tools, with hardware and software in a networked environment.

Moderately advanced-level technical knowledge of classroom and conference room multimedia and
audio/video (A/V) solutions.

Intermediate-level technical knowledge of offered cloud services. Technical training and
documentation experience.

Excellent customer service.

Excellent written and oral communication.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday at the main UF campus in Gainesville, FL. 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with the specific shift assigned based on operational requirements. Occasionally, early morning, late evening, or weekend work may be required to facilitate systems management and maintenance responsibilities. Additionally, occasional travel, which may involve overnight stays, to off-campus UF/IFAS locations may be necessary.
