Job Description:

Job Duties : 

  • Innovate, plan, and lead the coordination of large scale family engagement events designed to facilitate relationship building and support opportunities both in Gainesville and beyond through Family Preview (orientation), Fall Family Weekend, Spring Family Weekend.
  • Provide planning and support for the implementation of communication and marketing plans for parents and family members to include print deliverables, promotional items, website, social media, university announcements, etc.
  • Manage CampusESP (online family communication portal) including collaborating with campus colleagues to develop content that informs and educates families about campus resources, critical issues, campus events, and topics relevant to their student’s success.
  • Contribute to general office strategic planning related to the successful transition of new students and engagement of parents and family members.
  • Coordinate planning, recording, and producing of parent and family webinar series (Chomp Chats)
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategic assessment plans designed to understand the experience and needs of parents and family members.
  • Manage budget for family programming, including but not limited to Fall and Spring Family Weekend
  • Design and implement a student supported family ambassador program. This includes but may not be limited to establishing ambassador program responsibilities, recruiting and selecting ambassadors, and training and development for ambassadors.
  • Support the transition of new students through teaching a section of SLS1102 (First Year Florida) on an annual basis
  • Contributes to the division and university through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE

8am to 5pm, 40 hours/week: Evenings and weekends required on occasion due to programming needs and professional development.

Expected Salary:

$45,000 - $48,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Qualified applicants should have graduate or professional experience in student affairs, with significant experience in a program or service area

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field and two years of appropriate experience. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with new student programs or parent & family initiatives preferred.
