The University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks applications for an Accountant I position. The Accountant I will perform routine professional-level accounting functions, such as purchasing and disbursements, audit and reconciliation, accounts and record keeping, and basic financial reports. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, who embraces an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
Process financial transactions for the college for all funding sources. Process purchasing requests for all departments of the college. Serve as the requestor for all requisitions for the college processed through myufl Marketplace. This includes the verification of adherence to UF purchasing directives and procedures, budget verification, and review and input of funding information.
Perform reconciliations to general ledgers with all sources of funds. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Process all cash deposits for the college. Generate an annual sales tax report for journal revenues.
Process journal entries and budget transfers in UF PeopleSoft accounting system. Create, submit, and process UF financial forms as may be needed for all accounting functions.
Create and maintain college fiscal reports, providing financial coordination of the college’s fiscal commitments. Prepare ad hoc reports to assist with reconciling and tracking expenditures using UF’s Enterprise Reporting tools. Create and maintain Managerial Budgets for Professional Development Accounts. Prepare financial reports as required for UF Law Grants and Centers. Assist with financial reporting as required by the American Bar Association.
Perform other duties as assigned in pursuit of the strategic financial goals of the college.
Normal Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., start time may flex to one hour later - 40 hours per week - Occasional overtime may be required
