Job Description:

Research Project Coordination:
•           Coordinate day-to-day research activities related to the National Drug Early Warning System project. This may include planning and coordination of weekly research team calls, and monitoring to ensure the study protocol is being followed across multiple sub-studies and surveillance efforts.
•           Ensure that data are collected and stored according to the study protocol and consistent with local, state and federal regulations. Retain records/archive documents after project close-out.
•           Assist and support the principal investigator in written and oral communications with granting agencies, faculty, staff, and community groups.

•           Assist in preparation of annual research progress report to granting agency.
•           Support and track financial aspects related to grants and contracts such as participant gift cards, and payment of annual invoices for Scientific Advisory Group members and Sentinel Site Directors.
•           Schedule, plan and host regular meetings, online and in-person, of Scientific Advisory Group and Sentinel Site Directors.

•           Ensure compliance with federal, state, and sponsor policies.
•           Maintain study field manual. Assist with IRB protocol submission, revisions, and reporting
•           Train research staff as needed to perform study procedures.
•           Responsible for the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility.  May recommend changes on policy/procedures as necessary.
•           Comply with institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
•           Ensure safety of the research laboratory.
Perform additional related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his/her area.

 Support for supplements and sub-studies:
•           Serve as liaison to biospatial for Discovery EMS database, including monitoring data alerts and working with research staff on data needed for visualizations

•           Coordinate with any study supplement leaders to ensure adequate progress and reporting.
•           Work with Data Management Analyst to ensure proper collection of data and storage of data in appropriate locations.
•           Support recruitment through Virtual HealthStreet effort as needed.

•           Assist as needed with Rapid Street Reporting (RSR) effort, including selection of sites and logistics for interviewer travel, and possible travel for data collection.

•           Serve as liaison for Drug Checking Survey effort.

Support for research activity broadly:
•           Assist in the preparation of papers, posters and manuscripts for possible publications and presentations.
•           Facilitate collaboration with new investigators and students from a variety of disciplines.

Additional work-related activities: 
•           Attend team meetings, research seminars, and continuing education programs relevant to research.
•           Help with additional duties related to the research activity as needed.
•           Coordinate special studies or projects as directed.

Expected Salary:

$46,000 - $52,200 commensurate with skills, education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Word or Excel
  • Previous experience with human subjects
  • Previous experience with participant recruitment and community outreach and development
  • Previous experience with human subject payment systems
