Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Nursing Student Services office is seeking a part-time (30 hours per week) Receptionist to serve as the primary receptionist and greeter for all visitors to the HPNP Student Services office. This role involves greeting all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally, determining their needs, checking scheduled appointments, and directing them to the proper person.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Reception: Greet all visitors, determine their needs, check scheduled appointments, and direct them to the appropriate person.

Telephone Reception: Answer all calls to the College of Nursing Student Services office, determine if the call can be handled directly or needs to be transferred, and check and distribute voice mail messages from the general mailbox.

Advising Appointments: Direct students and visitors to appropriate advisors for advising appointments.

Event Assistance: Assist OSS staff with student event planning and preparation.

Mail and Deliveries: Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other deliveries.

Clerical Support: Provide clerical assistance as needed to OSS staff.

Expected Salary:

$13.00 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: One-year clerical experience in office setting preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of general office responsibilities/duties
  • Knowledge of good telephone etiquette with the ability to deal tactfully and confidently with callers and visitors.

SKILLS: Skilled in general office duties

ABILITIES:

  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to perform general office responsibilities/duties
