| The UF/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants is a research, teaching, and Extension unit located just north of the main Gainesville campus off Millhopper Rd. The mission of UF/IFAS CAIP is to develop and disseminate strategies for addressing the impact of invasive plants. We have a team of scientists and staff that specialize in various invasive plant ecology and management practices who are working on research projects around the state of Florida. The goal of the CAIP communications team is to distribute invasive plant research being done at the Center through engaging, innovative, and easily digestible ways. We produce a variety of communication materials such as one-pagers, rack cards, shortform videos, social media, posters, our Plant Directory, and more.
The UF/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants (CAIP) is seeking a part-time
communications assistant. The role will be 10-20 hours a week at $15/hour. The overall responsibilities will be recording and editing videos, designing print layouts, social media post curation, and blog writing. Applicants are expected to have some experience in the Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. The applicant should also have an interest in science communication and drive to learn. |
