Research Coordinator, Precision Medicine Program 32060000 - PH-PHARMTHERAPY TRNSL RSCH Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
For nearly a decade, UF Health’s Precision Medicine Program has been at the forefront of genomic medicine implementation nationally and contributed to a growing evidence base in support of genotype-guided therapy. Starting in 2013 the PMP has been funded by the National Institutes of Health Implementing Genomics in Practice, or IGNITE, network. In 2018, NIH renewed UF Health’s funding in the IGNITE II network and as part of the funding will be launching two multi-site genomic pragmatic clinical trials. One study will recruit adults of African ancestry with hypertension to evaluate the impact of returning high-risk APOL1 genetic test results to patients and providers and explore the effect of pharmacogenomics guided anti-hypertension management. The second study will recruit adults and children to determine if a genotype-guided approach to acute post-surgical pain and chronic pain therapy leads to improved pain control, and determine if genotype-guided dosing or selection of antidepressants among patients leads to improved control of depression symptoms. PMP Research Coordinator will be responsible for administrating and coordinating the research activities of these two trials.
