This position is responsible for the overall daily management, operation and function of a laboratory in the Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine in the University of Florida Diabetes Institute (UFDI), assuring compliance with hospital, University, State and Federal regulations, a safe work environment, and oversight of laboratory activities for quality assurance and improvement. The primary responsibilities involve extensive tissue mapping of immune system organs. This involves histology, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence assays as well as genetic sequencing of several tissue types. Analysis and integration of acquired data/metadata is required. The position will operate at a high level of independence and will report to the PI directly and collaborate with PI in formulating experimental design, regulatory protocols and new grant applications.
