Classification Minimum Requirements:

• Must have current FEDERAL WORK STUDY award for Spring 2026, opportunity to extend into Summer and Fall 2026.
• Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled for at least six credit hours a semester.
• Proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn web-based events, teaching, and communication computer applications.

Job Description: Overview:
  • Support UF/IFAS Extension programs (online and in-person) on natural resources and wildlife in Florida, under the direction of the State Specialized Agent in Natural Resources.
  • Primarily office and computer-based tasks, located on the main UF campus in Gainesville, FL.
  • Schedule is approximately 8 hours/week, during regular business hours.
General responsibilities include:
  • Logistical support of program activities, records and database management, social media, communication with program participants, preparing and shipping course materials, event coordination, general office tasks, and other non-clerical duties. Most tasks are solitary and primarily computer based.

  • This position is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in “behind-the-scenes” management of outreach education programs.
  • Duties could be adapted based on skills and interests to coordinate with student’s coursework projects, internship, or assistantship requirements.
Expected Salary:

$14/hour

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications refer to evidence-based or demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences required for the role. 

Must have current eligibility per Federal Work Study guidelines. 
Preferred:

Proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn web-based events, teaching, and communication computer applications.

Enthusiasm and interest in natural resource & wildlife conservation in Florida, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks to accomplish goals, and detail-oriented with capacity to follow instructions while working independently.

Bonus if you have skills in visual communications, graphic design, marketing, video editing, and/or instructional design.
