The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, College of Pharmacy (https://ptr.pharmacy.ufl.edu/), University of Florida, invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking promising or accomplished scientists with expertise in clinical and translational research, with areas of interest including precision medicine, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program. All faculty in the department contribute to our professional and graduate education programs.
The position may be based in the Gainesville or Lake Nona Campus. Faculty hires will also participate in the professional and graduate instructional efforts of the College.
Areas of specialization within pharmacotherapy should complement the interests of the department and the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine https://precisionmedicine.ufhealth.org/research/center-for-pharmacogenomics-and-precision-medicine/.

| Required Qualifications: |
Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.) with formal postdoctoral research training. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. Other requirements include a strong potential for or demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding and a record of accomplishments in research.

| Preferred: |
Previous teaching experience and experience in mentoring students are preferred. Extramurally-funded research program and proven track record of publication will be considered important attributes of successful candidates. Soft skills as well as clear written and verbal communication are essential to team-based research and communication between trainees, faculty, and external collaborators. An understanding of patient care will further be helpful for training and mentoring PharmD students, PhD students, and post-doctoral research associates.
