| Job Description: |
Job Responsibilities
-
Perform preventative maintenance and general facilities support, including monthly inspections, basic AC checks, ice machine upkeep, exhaust and fume hood verification, and emergency equipment testing. Assist with State Fire Marshal inspections, support Maintenance Generalist II with repairs and projects, and drive to various locations as needed.

Maintain outdoor areas through landscaping tasks such as trimming vegetation, clearing walkways, debris removal, irrigation checks, and general grounds upkeep.

Support greenhouse operations by performing minor repairs, replacing components, monitoring environmental controls, reporting malfunctions, and assisting with cleaning and pressure washing.

Carry out custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, waste removal, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in research, office, and utility spaces.

| Expected Salary: |
$17-18/hr. commensurate with education and experience

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience in general facility maintenance, including basic HVAC checks, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Familiarity with greenhouse operations or agricultural research facilities.
- Experience with landscaping tasks such as trimming, debris removal, and irrigation checks.
- Knowledge of basic custodial practices and pressure-washing equipment.
- Ability to assist with safety inspections, including eyewash/shower testing and basic fire safety checks.
- Understanding of building systems and common maintenance tools, with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and maintaining consistent reliability and attention to detail.

A high school diploma (or equivalent) and zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Valid driver's license.
