UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional-level Senior Windows Site Reliability Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT.
Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, eager to learn, and willing to share extensive experience with fellow team members. Outstanding communication skills are a must. You will have the opportunity to lead medium and large projects and initiate new projects that fit the organization's needs. Other duties include coordinating teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Windows Administration of Enterprise Applications
- Provide input, advice, and recommendations on enterprise systems administration and management technologies
- Govern architectural decisions across projects and initiatives and promote architectural best practices
- Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, etc...
- Lead Post-incident reviews
- Large scale Windows administration
- Lead Microsoft Platform Team in architecture and implementation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
- Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:
- Installation, Architecture/Design, and Management of Enterprise Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and cloud deployments of Windows Server
- Expert Knowledge and prior use of Automation, scripting, and configuration management systems such as: Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Vault, Docker, PowerShell, Python and Go.
- Load balancer policies, and virtual server load balancing.
- Administering IIS in clustered and non-clustered configurations
- Experience with large scale Windows Server Operating System management including the ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting.
- Monitoring systems such as: Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Splunk, Loki, Prometheus, Mimir.
- Strong familiarity with and prior use of APIs (SOAP, Rest, etc)
- Deep familiarity with at least one Hypervisor platform (Preferred: VMWare)
- Knowledge and ability to perform site reliability engineer tasks such as Disaster Recovery, High Availability and Observability
