Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and three years of experience or Master's degree in biology or a related field with one year of relevant experience.
Job Description:

Perform laboratory testing of human biological samples for research purposes using various
methodologies. Testing includes, but is not limited to, operation of state-of-the-art automated chemistry,
and immunoassay systems and performing various laboratory assays using automated and/or manual
methods. Triage, accession, and process research and clinical testing

Participate in the overall maintenance of the laboratory. Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and
equipment, and comply with all laboratory policies and procedures. Assist with inventory. Identify process
improvement opportunities
Responsible for all routine documentation associated with the performance of laboratory testing;
includes reporting results and all quality control documentation.

Participate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by the laboratory director.
Recommend updates and changes to laboratory procedure manuals.

Actively participate in the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratory information
system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds and dictionary maintenance.

Expected Salary:

Starting salary range is between $ 46,000 - $55,000, commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and three years of experience or Master's degree in biology or a related field with one year of relevant experience.
Preferred: Two years of appropriate laboratory experience using HPLC, CLIA, ELISA and RIA methods
- Handling, blood, swabs, urine cups, and other body fluids and their respective containers. Use of
ice packs and dry ice.
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute laboratory testing.
- Ability to use problem solving techniques in the laboratory.
- Ability to communicate with other technologists and supervisors.
- Ability to collect and analyze data.
- Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures for clinical testing.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets, data management and IT skills
