Job Description:

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in observational/computational time-domain astrophysics, including supernovae, gravitational-wave events, fast radio bursts, and tidal disruption events, to work with Dr. Daichi Hiramatsu in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida to begin in Fall 2026. Applicants are encouraged to include plans on how they will benefit from and utilize some of the group, department, and university resources, including UF telescope access (e.g., 10.4m Gran Telescopio Canarias), HiPerGator supercomputer, and/or membership in the Global Supernova Project (a Key Project at Las Cumbres Observatory with a global telescope network). Ability to connect with other researchers in the department as well as campus-wide will also be considered positively.

The applicant must have completed a PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field by the date of appointment. The position is renewable annually for up to three years based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
