This position will execute high-throughput sample processing within the surgery genomics core, including, but not limited to, bulk and single-cell or single-nucleus RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, single-cell/nuclei isolation, DNA/RNA extraction, sample library preparation, and sequencing. This position requires knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) instrumentation and sample processing, as well as experience in high-throughput molecular biology.

High throughput sample processing utilizing the latest in laboratory automation. Strategic NGS instrumentation utilization to ensure meaningful and quality data with a fast turnaround time. Proactive NGS instrument maintenance, ensuring consistent quality and performance across instruments. Generation of sequencing libraries.

High throughput DNA and RNA isolation from single cells or nuclei of diverse sample types. Quality analysis of DNA and RNA using multiple platforms including bioanalyzer, nanodrop, gel electrophoresis.

Develops new protocols and organizes data for analysis. Provides preliminary analysis of output from instrumentation. Creates QA/QC procedures for new scientific protocols

Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies. Requests purchase orders as needed, provides pricing comparisons.

1-3+ years’ experience in high-throughput NGS sample processing and RNA/DNA isolation. Technical expertise with Illumina NGS and 10X Genomics platforms, including whole-genome sequencing, targeted amplicon sequencing, ATAC-seq, and RNA sequencing.
