Job Description:

The College of Nursing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Clinical Placement Coordinator to support Nursing students across all specialties. This role is responsible for securing, coordinating, and tracking clinical placements, working closely with track coordinators, students, and clinical sites. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced academic environment. Responsibilities include managing placement logistics, maintaining accurate records in the clinical placement system, and supporting onboarding and evaluation processes.

The OPS Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for working to secure, place, and track clinical placements for students in nurse practitioner clinical regardless of specialty or program.  This position requires the incumbent to possess strong communication and coordination skills and the ability to work independently.

 

Secures clinical sites and facilitates student clinical placements for all nurse practitioner (NP) tracks
                • Collaborates with NP track coordinators to identify and secure new clinical sites and retain current                    sites.
                • Communicates with NP track coordinators to place students in settings congruent with the needs                        of the specific clinical NP track.
                • Secures appropriate clinical placements for students prior to the semester start and as needed                           throughout the semester.
                • Works collaboratively with clinical site representative(s) and students to ensure students meet the                     criteria and onboarding requirements specific to that site.
               

Collaborates with NP track coordinators and Student Affairs to accurately forecast and plan clinical placements.
                • Gathers and tracks enrollment data in collaboration with Student Services and NP track                                    coordinators to forecast clinical placement needs.
                • Works with NP track coordinators to discover the cadence of clinical placements specific to each                         track.
               

Provides administrative support related to all facets of clinical placements.
                • Maintains administrative level access and communication with third-party clinical placement                               management system.
                • Ensures all data related to clinical placements is accurately entered into the clinical placement
                management system.
                • Coordinates with preceptors to ensure current documentation is on file.
                • Collaborates with NP track coordinators to send and collect site, student, and preceptor                                    evaluations.
                • Coordinates preceptor courtesy adjunct faculty appointment process as needed.
                • Creates materials as needed for faculty, staff, students, clinical sites, and preceptors.


              

 Expected Salary:

$22.00-$27.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

Experience in a health-care environment.

Knowledge of nursing profession, particularly nurse practitioner educational requirements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong organizational skills.

Self-Directed.

Attentive to detail.

Understanding of and commitment to the use of technology.

Strong collaborator with dedication to team building.
