Job Description: |
The Teaching and Learning Center at the Warrington College of Business invites applications for a student assistant who will provide specialized assistance to our team of instructional designers. Primary responsibilities include formatting documents for readability and accessibility, templating course materials to create consistency across courses, and quality control (QC) of course materials. This position offers a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy student to contribute to the online teaching and learning experience. Applicants should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
1. Accessibility Support:
- Collaborate with instructional designers to address accessibility barriers in course materials, documents, and digital content. - Assist in the creation and remediation of accessible documents, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and PDF files. - Conduct accessibility assessments and recommend improvements for digital resources.
2. Course Material Preparation and Quality Control:
- Format PowerPoint presentations using a provided template while adhering to our design best practices. - Assist instructional designers in reviewing course materials for accurate content and formatting.
3. Administrative Tasks:
- Review and format additional course site materials as needed. - Other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours to accommodate the student's class schedule. Ideally, this student assistant would have 12-20 hours of availability each week, depending on the needs of the Center. These hours would be worked on campus at the Teaching and Learning Center at least three days per week.

Expected Salary: |
$14 hourly

Required Qualifications: |
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Effective communication skills
- Evidence of organizational ability, diligence, and dependability

Preferred: |
The successful candidate will bring to the position:
- Experience working with PowerPoint, Microsoft TEAMS and Google Drive to collaborate with department staff and faculty
- Experience in secretarial, clerical, and/or customer service.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat
|
