Job Description:

This position supports research on neonatal nutrition and health through collaboration with experts in computational biology, microbiome science, and metabolomics. The research assistant will help analyze multi-omics data, identify key microbial and metabolic patterns, and assist with study design, data interpretation, and preparation of reports and figures to support ongoing NIH-funded projects.

The OPS Research Assistant will be responsible for:

• Collaborating closely with computational biologists to integrate multi-omics datasets and refine analytic pipelines.
• Partnering with microbiome experts to characterize microbial signatures associated with nutritional interventions and infant outcomes.
• Working with metabolomics colleagues to identify key metabolic pathways and biomarkers that inform nutrient utilization and growth trajectories.
• Coordinating cross-disciplinary analyses to generate high-quality preliminary data that strengthens the evidence base for our ongoing NIH RO1 proposal.
• Assisting with study design, data collection, and interpretation of findings to ensure translational relevance to neonatal nutrition and health.
• Preparing summary reports, figures, and manuscripts that highlight the preliminary findings and support competitive grant submissions.

Expected Salary:

$22.00 an hour

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

Be able to evaluate large data sets with unsupervised machine learning models, work closely with the team to analyze and cluster data for evaluation of risk for developing retinopathy of prematurity.
