Scientific Laboratory Manager

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience,
appropriate college course work may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required
experience.

• Perform flow cytometric analysis of murine and human airway tissues, including experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, and interpretation
• Conduct ELISA and cytometric bead array assays to quantify biomarkers in clinical trial specimens
• Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and maintaining supplies and reagents and upkeep of scientific equipment
• Collect and process human tissue samples from operating rooms; catalog specimens, establish primary cell cultures, and prepare samples for downstream applications
• Train students and junior team members in immune assay techniques, including flow cytometry

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented setting
• Academic background or coursework in immunology or related biomedical sciences preferred (training will be provided for specialized assays)
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on experimental needs
• Familiarity with UF procurement systems is a preferable, but not required
