Job Description: |
Inpatient Support • Works closely with patients and families to teach and utilize appropriately assigned gaming technologies. • Facilitates daily Streetlight Teen Lounge, along with other age-appropriate gaming and recreation related events. • Maintains Streetlight REDCap database including documentation of gaming and technology related consent forms.
Technology Maintenance • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, updates and repairs gaming systems and related peripheral equipment. • Maintains updated knowledge on all applicable gaming systems and performs new system configurations. • Maintains daily inventory log of inpatient lending devices for loss prevention. • Supports and documents various accounts for lending devices including PlayStation, Xbox, etc.
Staff and Volunteer Training • Facilitates volunteer briefing and debriefing meetings. • Collaborates with team members on research related to gaming system implementation and outcomes with relation to patient care. • Coordinates with clinicians across various departments to setup care plans and flow in both inpatient and outpatient settings. • Keeps the Streetlight and Child Life Programs informed and up-to-date on the latest technology that could be utilized for stress and pain management, alternative focus, socialization and education. • Trains and familiarizes staff and volunteers on the use of new technologies.
External Relations and Marketing • Builds and maintains partnerships with organizations who wish to support and develop technology and technology-based programming. • Maintains UF approved Streetlight social media sights including Facebook and Instagram. • Facilitates donor stewardship, marketing initiatives, and technology-related grant support to ensure the sustainability of the GTS position and related programming.
Remote Patient Support • Moderates the Streetlight Online Discord server and virtual programming.

$53,000-$61,000

Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred |
- Extensive knowledge of game systems. - Experience moderating an online community preferred. - Patient Gaming Technology Certificate Preferred; GTS will complete this certification within one year of beginning the position if they do not already hold this certification. - Computer Support Technician certification preferred.
