The department’s faculty have embraced the need to see AI integrated into many facets of research
and clinical care by leveraging UF’s HiPerGator supercomputing resources powered by leading-edge NVIDIA technology. The UFDI and Pathology Department research laboratories are well supported by experienced technical staff (e.g., certified/licensed technicians, graduate-level and post-doctoral trainees, pathology assistants, administrative support staff), with a modern bio-banking facility supported by well-established programs for the collection of peripheral blood and tissues from living study participants and organ donors, respectively. Finally, UF has recently made significant financial investments into cutting-edge research technologies that will form the basis for next-generation efforts in molecular pathology, genetics, and cell biology.
