Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning,
and childcare. We research, develop, and scale educational innovations for adults and children that put all
learners on trajectories for lifelong success. Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade
reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in children's educational trajectory that are

Production

• Oversees, plan and execute video shoots, including setting up equipment, directing talent, and
managing the shooting schedule.

• Operate video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture high-quality footage.

• Determine the production methods and implement those among the in-house production team.

• Collaborates with team in-studio and field production.

• Coordinates the scheduling and maintenance of media production and distribution infrastructure.

• Advises the best solutions to meet project goals and keep clients on task with reviews and
updates.

• Review progress and maintain up-to-date records for project tracking.

• Demonstrates the operation of multimedia equipment.

Post-Production

• Facilitate post-production of project content through graphics, animations, special effects, music,
and sound effects to enhance video quality and viewer engagement.

•Coordinate the design of the graphic design/illustrations needed.

• Ensure final videos meet guidelines and technical specifications.

• Collaborate with content development to approve and deliver multimedia resources.

• Offer creative solutions to create and deliver high-quality and engaging digital content.

Content

• Collaborate across teams with SMEs to develop video content ideas for teacher professional
development sessions.

• Create storyboards, scripts, and shot lists for video projects.

• Manage video content library, ensuring all assets are properly archived and easily accessible.

Process development

• Develop new techniques, systems, and procedures to enhance operations.

• Implement feedback from stakeholders to continually improve video quality and effectiveness.

Supervision

• May supervisor part-time and full-time employees

• Provides creative leadership in determining conceptual outcomes for media projects that achieve
strategic goals.

• Reviews progress and evaluates results.

Other duties as assigned.

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$68,000 - $75,000

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate
vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Video Content Specialist, Video Producer, or similar
• Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starting
• Highly organized
• Clear, open, consistent, professional communication
