The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and outcome focused Director of Careers and Corporate Partnerships to lead initiatives that , build industry partnerships with the College of Journalism and Communications, expand employer engagement with our students and recent alumni, and increase employment outcomes at the time of graduation.
This leadership position oversees the Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships, serving as the bridge between the ever-evolving media, communication, and technology industries and our college’s departments and students. The Director will play a key role in positioning CJC students as top candidates in competitive job markets and fostering long-term partnerships with employers across the country and beyond.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the overall operations of the Office, including staff supervision and the maintenance of online resources, job boards, and employer databases.
- Develop and promote engaging programs that connect employers with students and help students prepare for careers through workshops, events, and strategic communication.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with employers through regular outreach, site visits, and participation in key industry conferences and networking events.
- Execute formal partnerships and sponsorships with industry organizations.
- Track and analyze student outcomes related to internships, job placements, and salaries, using that data to inform strategic decisions and present insights to college leadership.
- Design and execute strategies to expand the pool of employers recruiting CJC students, with an emphasis on creating diverse and high-impact opportunities.
- Collaborate with UF’s Career Connections Center (C3) and the CJC Knight Division to align employer engagement efforts and maximize student support.
- Represent CJC at professional meetings and events, promoting our students and programs to a wide range of stakeholders across regional, national, and international platforms.
