Job Description:

Strategic Communications Planning and Management

Develops and executes communication strategies that align with the Maples Center for Forensic Medicine’s and FEMORS overarching goals, ensuring consistent messaging across a variety of platforms. Collaborates closely with leadership, faculty, and other stakeholders to prioritize graduate education communication needs, translating these priorities into actionable plans that align with organizational objectives. Establishes and strengthens partnerships with internal teams, external organizations, and industry stakeholders to amplify messaging, expand visibility, and foster deeper audience engagement.

Oversee the conceptualization, development, and distribution of high-quality multimedia content tailored for graduate-level audiences. Uses modern content creation tools to produce videos, infographics, animations, and other engaging assets that resonate with target demographics.

Implements data-driven engagement strategies, leveraging analytics to monitor campaign performance and optimize outcomes. Regularly evaluates promotional efforts to ensure objectives are being met and adjusts strategies to maximize audience reach and interaction. Upholds strict adherence to UF and UF Health branding and communications policies and guidelines, ensuring all materials maintain a cohesive and professional appearance across all media channels. Explores emerging tools and techniques to keep the Center’s communication efforts innovative and impactful.

FEMORS - Coordinates with command staff to execute annual training sessions to enhance team preparedness, develops maintains and performs annual reviews of internal protocols and quality assurance (Field Operations Guide - FOG), reviews new applicant submissions to offer advice on FEMORS classification options, and provide hands-on instruction on equipment use and safety

Develop and maintain internal protocols and quality assurance (Field Operations Guide - FOG). Develop and manage training manuals and handouts.

Coordinates with command staff to provide input for completion of annual status reports and deliverable reports in sustainment, management, and training. Assists with internal monitoring of all aspects of Florida DOH contract for compliance and meeting contract deliverables.

 FEMORS Logistics Chief

Oversee the routine inventory, maintenance, and resupply of the Disaster Portable Morgue Unit, or DPMU, cache, ensuring equipment is operational, compliant with safety standards, and deployment ready. Marshals equipment including procurement, inventory management, warehouse organization, vehicle storage and maintenance options, transportation load planning for both activations and training exercises.

During deployment (PRN) , in consultation with local authorities, duties shall include initial scene response and evaluation of personnel and equipment required for: processing of the scene, establishing temporary morgue operations and support of the forensic units within the morgue, establishing a Victim Information Center (VIC) to receive reports of missing persons, and managing responder administration.  Evaluates locations for facility sizes, layout, accessibility, and support infrastructure. Supervises and administers the FEMORS Disaster Portable Morgue Unit (DPMU) to include site set-up, inventory, cache maintenance, and disaster response. Distributes equipment as needed for Administrative Command Post, field recovery operations, and the VIC.

FEMORS and Distant Education Administration

Monitors compliance with University of Florida, DOH, and OSHA regulations. Negotiates with vendors, and follows proper bid 'solicitation procedures’. Researches equipment and stays abreast of the latest technology and updates.

Performs educational outreach to local emergency operations centers and District Medical Examiners to educate them on the activities of FEMORS and how to become involved or request assistance. Maintains Go-team response, 24-7 on-call readiness.

Promotes the FEMORS program in educational opportunities to relevant audiences. Create and distribute targeted marketing content to promote FEMORS team membership. Channels may include, but are not limited to, mail, e-mail, social media, signage, events, open houses, and presentations.

Expected Salary: Salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience
