The End User Computing Specialist III, with a specialization in macOS reports, to the IT Manager within COM Finance and Administration and is responsible for providing support to various Dean's Office divisions. This role involves analyzing business needs, developing technical requirements, and configuring and implementing integrated client solutions.
This position provides advanced troubleshooting, consultation, and proactive support for faculty and staff technology environments, with a strong focus on Apple macOS platforms. Additionally, this position assists in diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network issues while serving as a technical consultant across the Dean's Office.
About This Role:
IT Support
- Provide responsive and proactive IT support to faculty and staff in a macOS environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues; escalate when appropriate.
- Deliver preventative maintenance recommendations and resolve recurring technical problems.
- Maintain broad expertise across multiple platforms and serve as a subject matter expert in macOS technologies.
- Assist in identifying and diagnosing issues related to building-level core network infrastructure (Layer 3) and escalate or resolve as necessary.
Equipment Deployment
- Configure, deliver, and set up new and existing computer equipment including macOS-based systems, peripherals, and software.
- Support lab environments and end-user workstations to ensure readiness and operational integrity.
Consultation
- Work directly with end users to understand business needs and technical requirements.
- Analyze workflows and provide recommendations to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
- Communicate user needs and proposed solutions to IT leadership for strategic decision-making.
Internal Consultation
- Participate in identifying and evaluating new hardware, software, and integrated solutions to improve support operations.
- Engage in internal projects and collaborative efforts to enhance IT service delivery and operational efficiency.
