The coordinator also manages data storage, organization, and cleaning, while supporting GIS mapping and spatial analysis. They develop and maintain bioinformatic pipelines and guide statistical modeling and interpretation. Responsibilities include producing visual data outputs and writing detailed reports. Budget oversight is also part of the role, assisting the Program Director in monitoring expenditures and ensuring financial compliance.
Additional duties include overseeing molecular genetics workflows such as DNA extraction, PCR techniques, and sequencing. The coordinator manages service lab operations, handles client communication and billing, and ensures the lab is well-equipped. They also train undergraduates and technicians in field sampling, lab techniques, safety protocols, and qPCR analysis.
