Job Description:

The Associate Director of Financial Services will assist in the overall financial management of the Procure to Pay function at the University. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Financial Analysis: Evaluate and measure operational performance, strategic sourcing, contract compliance, and other programs; define and deliver consistent financial metrics that both evaluate risk and opportunities along with determining potential monetary, working capital and other benefits.
  • Strategic Direction: Develops and implements strategic plans for the FS department in alignment with Associate Vice President of Financial Services, the University Chief Financial Officer and overall University strategic goals. Provides strategic leadership, innovation, and planning concerning relevant areas and improvements or work processes.  Conducts research and data analysis to assist in making informed business decisions.
  • Standardization: Define and deliver programs to standardize Procure to Pay practices to include vendor relationships and interactions, overall process adjustments and adherence to Federal, state, and local regulations in advance of Workday implementation timelines.
  • Special Projects: Performs a variety of special projects as defined by the Financial Services department and the CFO Office to align with Radical Financial Transformation efforts.
  • Workday Support: Engage with a variety of units to support as a connect point on Procure to Pay standard practices that will be updated and integrated across the Workday tenet. 
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience. 

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

Background in Procurement and / or AP activities as a business user, strategic advisor or procurement agent showing growth and career advancement.

Ability to manage Finance, Planning and Analysis activities in a complex environment within a State University or Corporate environment.

This position must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Business Intelligence and other Data Analytics programs to collect, manage and analyze organizational data.

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently.
