The University of Florida Dean of Students Office (DSO) is seeking a talented and creative Federal Work-Study Marketing Graphic Designer Student Assistant to join our team. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to work with the Outreach & Marketing Team and collaborate with key areas within the DSO— including Campus Assistance and Resources for Empowerment (CARE), Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (SCCR), Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry, and the Collegiate Veterans Success Center.
As a Graphic Design Student Assistant, you will play an integral role in increasing the visibility of programs and services to produce captivating designs that showcase and enhance the Gator student experience and events hosted by the office. This role requires a visually minded individual with a passion for storytelling and an eagerness to tackle creative challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Potential projects and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Collaborate with DSO unit leaders and supervisor, to create visually appealing designs for various projects and mediums such as print materials, digital graphics, social media, presentations, and promotional materials.
· Assist in brainstorming and ideation sessions to generate creative design concepts and solutions.
· Follow design briefs and project requirements to ensure design aligns with brand guidelines.
· Collaborate with team members and provide design support for various marketing and communication initiatives.
· Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and industry best practices to continually improve design skills and knowledge.
· Create and modify design assets using graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
· Other duties as assigned.
Schedule & Commitment
· Standard Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Students must maintain an agreed-upon schedule that aligns with their course commitments.
· Minimum commitment: One semester, with 5-10 hours per week (varies based on Federal Work-Study award). Longer-term engagements are encouraged.
