This position is based in the College of Public Health and Health Professions Dean’s Office and reports to the Director of Bachelor of Public Health program. This position will perform administrative, academic, advising, and student admissions activities for all three undergraduate programs in the college, with primary emphasis on the Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) program. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of University of Florida, State and Federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to student admission, advising, and registration. The incumbent will work closely with all other academic support staff, college advisors, and departmental staff and provide general office support to the Dean’s Office.
Academic Administration
- Coordinate, in consultation with Program Directors, modifications to program forms and processes
- Coordinate with undergraduate Advisors and Program Directors about student tracking and minor applications
- Communicate with University Admissions to secure names of transfer student applicants and coordinate student transfer activity
- Manage data and prepare reports for the Program Director and Dean’s Office
- Coordinate undergraduate student enrollment activities, to include managing student records
- Coordinate tracking of academic data, such as information on transfer applicants and current students
- Participate in the organization and execution of undergraduate events, orientations, and outreach activities
- Provide backup assistance with course enrollment and the planning of future semesters in terms of sections needed and scheduling conflicts
- Assist with compliance and accreditation activities such as textbook adoptions, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) data collection, and Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) data collection
- Track, manage, and monitor minor applications (including approvals and denials), registration, and degree certification
- Assist advisors with degree audits and related student communication
- Track alumni of PHHP undergraduate programs
- Assist Program Directors in constructing exit surveys and maintaining data for report preparation
- Manage Dean's List certification at the end of Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters
BPH Service-Learning Support
- Responsible for facilitating the Service-Learning Practicum, an experiential learning opportunity where students work with community partners and organizations to gain practical public health experience
- Establish connections and partnerships with potential practicum sites, ensure all students are placed within a practicum site, and facilitate the service-learning informational sessions throughout the Service-Learning course
Advising
- During peak times (approximately 6 to 8 weeks per year), join the undergraduate advisors in the advising of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and transfer students
- Process academic forms such as the dual degree form
- Assist students with advising and the development of planning forms for the combination Bachelor’s/Master of Public Health (MPH) Program

Expected Salary: |
$60,000 - $65,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Master of Public Health degree
- Experience in a student-facing position and with advising at a large university with freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and respectfully, both verbally and in writing, in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple demands and demonstrate attention to detail
- Knowledge of computer software systems to include Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook calendar, and email
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and to work both independently and in teams.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Knowledge of State of Florida and University of Florida rules, regulations, and procedures governing student enrollment and admissions
- Ability to organize multiple files/databases

This position may offer flexible work arrangements such as hybrid/remote work locations (up to 2 days per week). This position is not fully remote and will require a campus presence every week.
