The College of Public Health and Health Professions is seeking an intern to assist with studio-based video production in support of Instructional Design and Educational Media. This position is focused on recording faculty as they present lecture-style presentations in the PHHP Green Screen Studio, using PowerPoint in conjunction with vMix virtual sets. It is an entry-level, in-person role ideal for someone comfortable with camera equipment and eager to learn studio production workflows.
Duties may include preparing the studio for filming (setting up cameras, lighting, microphones, and media assets), operating the vMix system during recordings, and performing basic editing of video files in Adobe Premiere Pro. The intern may also assist with file organization and troubleshooting technical issues. Each work week will begin with a check-in to review priorities. The intern will then complete assigned tasks independently and provide updates as needed. Each work period will end with a short wrap-up report to the supervisor.
This position is not remote and is best suited for a student who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to gain practical video production experience in a studio environment.
Essential functions of the job include:
Preproduction skills: Entry-level familiarity with preparing media assets (PowerPoint slides, images, video files) for inclusion in video recordings
Videography and Film Production skills: Knowledge or comfort with camera equipment, lighting, and audio setup. Willingness to learn vMix virtual set operations.
Postproduction skills: Skills in basic timeline video editing. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro required. Experience with color correction a plus.
Distribution skills: Entry-level ability to organize and label video files for easy access and sharing after shoots.
Collaboration skills: Entry-level ability to communicate with team members, take direction, ask questions, and stay organized in a production-focused environment.
