Job Description: |
Library West is looking for an undergraduate intern to research existing Open Access (OA) resources, survey University of Florida and State University System institution guides to develop ideas and best practices, and build an Open Access LibGuide geared toward UF patrons that are non-affiliates. The student selected for the User Engagement Internship will conduct a literature review on patron needs, research and validate options for Open Access resources, and design a helpful guide for research purposes. Duties include literature and resource review, research, LibGuide development, and regular project meetings.
Hours: 12+ hours per week (160 hours total through Summer C, to be distributed between Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm)

Expected Salary: |
$15/hour

Required Qualifications: |
- Enrolled at UF as undergraduate, good academic standing
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Passion for libraries and information sharing
- Experience using research platforms and databases
- Interest in and/or knowledge of open access (OA) and publicly available resources and research
- Experience working with website development or design
|
