Job Description:	Provide assistance in research plot land preparation, planting, maintaining, and harvesting, as well as greenhouse work, planting, maintaining, and harvesting. Operate various farm equipment for land preparation, planting, maintenance, and harvesting. Perform routine maintenance and basic repair on tractors and equipment. Aid in Center landscape maintenance through mowing, pruning, and general cleanup. Assist farm employees with other duties as needed based on research trials. Certain activities involve extended hours of heat/cold exposure. Incumbent will be required to work in a collaborative environment, should be comfortable working in a team and be an effective communicator.
Expected Salary:	$16.55 /hr

In accordance with University of Florida rule 6C1-3.054, funding for this position is time-limited and may be eliminated or reduced because of conditions beyond the control of the University of Florida, which may result in termination of your employment before the anticipated end date. Funding also may be available to extend the appointment beyond the anticipated end date. In either case, you will remain a time-limited appointee (regardless of future title changes) unless you are notified otherwise in writing. The position is located at University of Florida’s North Florida Research and Education Center, Quincy, FL. The incumbent will assist with all ongoing farm operations using various farm equipment. They will report directly to the Farm Manager or designated supervisor. This is a 12-month non-tenure accruing position with renewal contingent upon performance and availability of funds. With the dynamic nature of the research programs at NFREC the incumbent is expected to adapt quickly and learn new techniques and methods warranted by the nature of the study. Must be a team player. The incumbent must be proficient with basic computer operations. Certain activities involve extended hours of heat/cold exposure. Typical work hours will be 8 AM to 5 PM but hours could vary based on workload.
