Key Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Clinical Research will lead and direct the research, administrative, and evaluation activities of the Clinical Research Hub (CRH), developing and overseeing clinical research infrastructure to optimize processes for scaling safe, high-quality trials. This role will collaborate with institutional leadership to establish strategic priorities and operational frameworks while providing expertise and guidance to faculty, clinicians, and research personnel in clinical trial operations, compliance, and regulatory affairs. A key focus will be implementing training initiatives, developing audit manuals, and establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance research efficiency.
The Associate Director will drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and AI-powered tools, ensuring the institution remains at the forefront of clinical research innovation. Additionally, they will monitor and evaluate key performance metrics to improve operational efficiency and trial success rates while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence across the university’s multi-site clinical research enterprise. This position also oversees the success of the enterprise-wide Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), including its operation, maintenance, and strategic development, ensuring effective functionality through close collaboration with UF stakeholders and a strong business relationship with the CTMS software vendor. Furthermore, the Associate Director will recruit and retain skilled staff to develop, implement, and conduct training and education for CTMS users, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to research excellence.
