Job Description: |
Technical & Operations:
- Assist with the management of all payroll processing functions
- Creates payroll schedule to support campus and state deadlines
- Resolves payroll errors
- Ensures biweekly ACH files are reported timely and accurately
- Reviews emergency checks, leave cashouts, journal entries, pay retros, payroll calculations and query analysis
Communications and Customer Service:
- Manage daily interactions with departments and personnel regarding their Time and Labor questions.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with key University, State, and Federal Agency stakeholders and colleagues to enhance relations and engagement through the distribution of clear and consistent communications.
- Proactively analyze current processes, recommend solutions to leadership, and support implementation.
- Ensure that departmental documents and training materials are up to date and meet current standards set by the administration
Leadership
- Provides guidance for direct reports
- Assists with continuous improvement efforts of the entire team
Special Projects:
- Other duties as assigned by the department leadership

Expected Salary: |
$70,000 - $75,000
|
Minimum Requirements: |
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Extensive knowledge of the payroll rules and regulations in addition to the human resource rules and policies as they affect payroll processing and payment functions and payroll accounting entries. A thorough understanding of the accounting systems, payroll tax withholding, and tax reporting requirements.
Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to analyze and solve problems, interpret and recommend solutions or changes; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to work with limited supervision; to be reliable, and to work both in a team and independently, proficient in Microsoft Office.
