Job Description:

Serve as a liaison between the Researchers and the Farm Operations Managers:
Act as an intermediary between the Researchers and the Farm Operations Managers in Marianna, Quincy, and Live Oak to ensure that investigators who receive funding from FDACS for BMP research capture the information needed to populate the template. Actively participate in interpretation and implementation of the research protocols to ensure completeness of the data captured in the template. Make recommendations to the template design team about potential template modifications.

Coordinate the acquisition of FDACS BMP datasets, manage, and maintain these datasets:
Oversee acquisition of metadata, in accordance with the requirements of the template. Procure datasets from previous FDACS-funded projects, incorporate those data into the template, and identify and locate missing metadata as available to ensure FAIR datasets. Procure datasets from other agricultural research projects conducted at NFREC that could support BMP recommendations and other efforts and incorporate them into the data entry template.

Communicate with stakeholders regarding dataset management:
Ensure that datasets are complete, all metadata and required fields are populated, and completed datasets are available to the public. Work with the Researchers and Farm Operations Managers to ensure that investigators who receive funding from FDACS for BMP research capture the information needed to populate the template. Work with the template design team to ensure that the template is designed to meet the needs of the Researchers and Farm Operations Managers.

Stakeholder meetings:
Meet with Researchers and Farm Managers every month to identify projects and discuss FDACS BMP datasets and to evaluate protocols for FDACS-funded BMP projects. Meetings are held either in-person or remotely to ensure accuracy of the FDACS BMP Data Template and update with required information. Ensure FDACS BMP datasets are complete, all metadata and required fields are populated, and completed datasets are available to the public. Submit cumulative reports and final report with findings and recommendations. Driving for in person meetings will be required.

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$60,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in any agriculture discipline is preferred. Effective communication with experience in scientific writing is preferred.
