Maintaining cleanliness and order in buildings, including heavy cleaning tasks like floor cleaning and rug shampooing, as well as ensuring restrooms and common areas are properly serviced and maintained. Gathering and emptying trash, cleaning windows and mirrors. Dusting, and polishing furniture, walls, machines, or equipment. Move furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Handling chemical cleaning procedures, requisition supplies, and notifying management of any major repair needs.

Minor maintenance tasks such as minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs may be required. Assist in the adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems. Assist maintenance generalists and skilled trades employees by preparing job sites, providing ladder assistance, and changing lights, and ceiling tiles. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Monitoring building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking for hazards. Clearing debris from walkways, sidewalks, and driving vans or industrial trucks for travel or cleaning work as needed. Assists in teamwork on special assignments such as setting up arranging, or removing decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience; or completion of the ninth grade and three years of experience.
