Job Description:

In collaboration with the Dermatology Program Director (PD), Dermatology the Associate Program Directors (APD), the Dermatopathology Program Director, the MSDO Program Director, the Complex Medical Dermatology Program Director, the Interdisciplinary Dermatitis Program Director assist with development and monitoring of specific measurable goals and objectives for the six ACGME core competencies listed below:

  • Patient Care
  • Medical Knowledge
  • Practice-Based Learning and Improvement
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Professionalism System-Based Practice

In collaboration with PD and APD assist with the development of educational methods necessary to teach core competencies, e.g. maintain regular, didactic conference schedule, maintain schedule of clinical rotations for all residents.  Provide monthly rotation schedules according to Dean’s office requirements.

Schedule Monthly CEX evaluations for residents and fellows

Coordinates creation, dissemination and monitoring of evaluations for the Residency and Fellowships including, but not limited to:

  • Faculty evaluation housestaff
  • Housestaff evaluating faculty
  • Faculty evaluating program
  • Housestaff evaluating program
  • 360 evaluations on Housestaff
  • Housestaff self-evaluations

Inputs and retains patient surveys on the Residents and Fellows.

Construct and maintain methods for meeting Departmental residency compliance with ACGME and Dermatology RRC requirements:

  • Assist with departmental continuous quality educational improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of a core educational curriculum for the residency program.
  • Assist APD with re-design and realignment of assessment methodologies.
  • Participate in national forums for dermatological education (ACGME, AAD, SID)
  • Improve the use of information technology for educational purposes within the department.
  • Develop educational portfolios for resident assessment.

  • Coordinates accreditation activities ‐ ACGME Site Visits, Special Reviews, Annual Program Evaluations
  • Coordinate/Facilitate Annual Program Evaluation meeting
  • Clinical Competency Committee
  • Program Evaluation Committee
  • Program Letter of Agreement – maintain current for every rotation site

Administrative functions    

  • Direct the processes for residency recruitment including interview process, maintain multiple electronic platforms (ERAS, Thalamus GME and Zoom) for applicant portfolios, applicant portfolios and NRMP match activities.
  • Direct the process for fellowship recruitment for the Dermatopatholgy program including receiving all application materials and combining them for review, maintain applicant record, conduct the interview process including all communication and virtual platform (Zoom) 
  • Direct the process for fellowship recruitment for the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology program including interview process, applicant portfolios and SF Match activities

 

Manage fellowship and residency work hours

Manage the residency and faculty for Gainesville and Jacksonville call schedule

Prepare bi-annual residency reviews including collection of needed data for the Dermatology Residency, MSDO, Dermpatopathology programs

 

Develop and monitor departmental educational database with respect to:

  • Applicant selection
  • Resident performance
  • Program graduates
  • Test Scores
  • Licenses training and full medical

Manage the Clinical Dermatology Elective

  • Scheduling through VSAS
  • Disseminating applicant CV and create selection process
  • Schedule selected applicants in accordance with clinical schedules and faculty availability- monthly
  • Communicate with applicants on schedule, rotation etiquette, orientation, housing, general rotation expectations.
  • Proctor end of rotation test

Construct and maintain a comprehensive Department of Dermatology Residency and Fellowship Program

  • Rotations
  • Conferences
  • Oral and written examinations

Faculty Development

Assist PD and APD in creation of a program for faculty development.

Assist PD and APD in development of educational workshops, grand rounds and retreats for all dermatology faculty and residents.

Assist in the enhancement of financial support for dermatology education.

Maintain record of faculty development for annual reports to the GME office, the ACGME, and upon request

Expected Salary:

$45k to $50k annually 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Incumbent must be motivated, able to work without much supervision, productive in a fast paced environment and a team player.
