We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Finance Manager to support the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida Business Office. The ideal candidate will provide expert financial guidance and operational support to the Director of Finance, ensuring efficient and compliant financial management, as well as adherence to University of Florida Procurement policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for financial oversight, including manage/monitor account balances, enter/adjust distributions, and perform monthly reconciliation 
  • Supervise Business Office staff who process fiscal transactions
  • Handle fiscal and award processing – approval of myUF Market and UFGO transactions, review/approve new appointment request form (NARF) for new positions, process deposits, enter student scholarship awards and process internal fund transfers
  • Administrator of planning and monitoring of annual budgets for Division of Media Properties (DMP) and process/monitor DMP award proposals
  • Responsible for various college projects, including space report, Material and Supply (M&S)/Equipment fees, annual foreign gifts and contracts report
  • Work with college stakeholders regarding UF systems, directives/procedural changes, audit inquires, and other projects as assigned by Director of Finance

 NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Specify days and hours this position is required to work as well as any variations from this schedule (ex: on call, shift rotations, seasonal extended hours, travel, etc.)

Schedule may vary between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday 40 hours/week or other approved 8 hr./day schedule.

Expected Salary:

$88,000 - $93,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Should have supervisory experience and strong background in fiscal administration and account management
  • Knowledge of University’s policies and procedures regarding fiscal and award management
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and possess good communication skills
  • Highly motivated professional with a capacity for hard work, and the ability to plan, organize and prioritize
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals at all levels, develop a good work environment and maintain strict confidentially
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Analytics, PeopleSoft/UF Workday and QuickBooks are a plus.
